For This Child believes that adoptions should contain no hidden costs.  We provide a high level of services, but we have also worked to keep our fees as low as possible. We do not charge separate application fees or home study review fees.  You find no hidden charges.

Our fee includes:

• In-depth assistance with the preparation of all documents for your foreign dossier
• Your own case manager who will follow your case closely from beginning to end
• Assistance with completion of a home study
• Final home study review to ensure you home study meets country requirements
• Assistance with required USCIS documents

• Travel assistance, preparation and advice

• Top of the line in-country services with an experienced team in Kazakhstan
• Support and communication from FTC's US staff during your in-country stay
• In-country assistance for entire stay in Kazakhstan, including reservations in region, team member accompaniment during meetings with Ministry Of Education and orphanage personnel, preparation for and accompanying family to court, coordination of all steps of adoption process regionally and in Almaty, and advocacy with Ministry Of Education in country.

The fees to adopt one child are $21,000.00, payable as follows:

             $2500 - when you are accepted as a For This Child client
             $1800 - upon FTC's review of home study
             $9200 - upon submittal of dossier to FTC
             $7500 - paid during your first trip, in Kazakhstan

There is refundable $1000 post adoption report deposit due with the dossier. Post adoption reports are required by the country of Kazakhstan. Parents will receive a 100% return of their deposit upon timely completion of their post adoption reports.

Agency fees will be reduced for the adoption of two siblings at the same time or the adoption of a child over six years of age. Kazakhstan will not allow for the adoption of two unrelated children at the same time.

We have structured our fee schedule so that fees are not paid until professional services are provided. Therefore, fees are non-refundable once paid.

Optional Escort Service/Shorter One Trip Announcement:

We are very excited to offer adoptive families the option of a shorter, meaning one trip only, Kazakhstan adoption. With this popular option, the child is escorted to the U.S. from Kazakhstan in lieu of the parents making a second trip. Escorts are provided by FTC staff. Additional fees apply to cover the escort’s expenses. 

Other expenses you should expect to incur in your Kazakhstan adoption journey:

• Home-study ($900 - $1500, although there are a couple of states which tend to have higher than average home study costs)
• I-600A filing fee ($670.00 + $80.00 per person for fingerprints)
• Apostilling of your dossier ($3.00-$20.00 per document)
• Translation of your dossier ($700)
• Registration of your dossier with the Kazakhstan Consulate ($555).
• Visa and invitation for adoptive parent to enter country (approx $400)
• Miscellaneous fees paid in Kazakhstan for child's paperwork ($1950)
• Gifts (customarily given to orphanage and various orphanage personnel including caregivers) ($500)
• Transportation, driver, vehicle, interpreter and apartment in Kazakhstan per day for up to two people for the duration of stay ($170 per day)
• Travel to region by train or air ($250-$350 per person)
• Round trip international airfare per adult ($1400-$2000)

These non-program fees are estimates and may increase or decrease.
