Frequently
Asked
Questions

How much is the application fee?
While there are no fees to apply for our grants, we do ask for a $25 donation toward the general fund. This donation is tax-deductible and helps to fund additional grant opportunities for families over and above our fundraising efforts.
How long does my application stay on file?
Your application will remain on file and for consideration until you bring home your child. We just simply ask that you recertify every few months with our Family Support Coordinator to remain eligible to receive grant funding. Because our grants do place certain situations in priority, please contact us with any updates to your referred child.
Why do you only provide grant funding to families adopting from Eastern European countries?
We don’t be any means believe that the child crisis in Eastern Europe is any more important that other countries, domestic adoption or even U.S. Foster care. For us? It is not an Either/Or problem. We believe that ALL children belong in families regardless of what country they live in. Eastern Europe is a place that our family is personally connected through our own personal adoption story and is the small part of the world that we feel we can best serve through our efforts. 600,000 children living in Eastern European institutions will never make it to their 21st birthday. We are doing everything possible to lower that statistic.
What countries are considered Eastern Europe?
Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia & Ukraine.
How often are grants awarded?
We award grants twice per year in June and December. We also will hold special board meetings for considerations of emergency situations, or if additional grant funding becomes available through our legacy grant programs.
What are legacy grants?
We have several families that have chosen to give donations each year in memory of a loved one no longer with us…or a child in Eastern Europe that did not make it out in time. Each year, those families fundraise and donate $5000 to fund one full adoption grant. We then bring them into the selection process so that they can help choose the recipient of their grant. *Note* This donation does not have to be made all at once. It can be made through monthly re-occurring giving, year-long fundraising efforts, partial donations throughout the year or any combination
of the above.
Is there a minimum donation requirement?

Absolutely not. We are grateful for any donation, no matter how small! We have levels of support listed on our website just as a showing of support for our community partners.

How long will I be considered a Community Partner?

We have annual, event and reoccurring sponsorship opportunities. Because we want you to feel comfortable working with our foundation, you are never locked into a contract, and may pause your automatic giving at anytime.

What are the benefits of becoming a community Partner?

We recognize our community partners frequently on social media, our main webpage, events, print materials, and t-shirts! We also realize that many community partners are local business owners, so we have created sponsorship packages that align with the marketing needs of a local businesses!
